Ipsy

Hey guys!!

For a year now I've been watching haul videos of monthly makeup subscriptions, but I was never able to purchase any because they weren't offered in Canada.

Monthly makeup subscriptions if you don't know is when you pay a monthly fee of $10 and you receive 4 beauty sample products as well you receive a 5th full size product. There is 3 big ones which I'll add the links at the bottom. They are mostly all the same but they all give different samples and their packaging is really cute.

I really love this idea because you get to try brand name products that you probably wouldn't try otherwise. You also can test the products and then if you like them you can buy the full size.

I've subscribed to Ipsy and the thing I love about it is that it was created by 6 makeup youtube gurus, Michelle Phan, Andrea, Promise Phan, Jessica Harlow and Bethany. I watch their videos all the time and they have AMAZING!!

(Andrea) http://www.youtube.com/user/AndreasChoice

I've only had it for 2 months and so far I'm really happy with what I have recieved. I got samples that I would never gotten the chance to try because either it was too expensive or it wasn't sold here.

What I like about Ipsy is that every month a  new bag is released there's a contest on their website the challege is to create look by using the products in your bag. You can either take a photo or a video and upload it to your profile on Ipsy.com.

Here is what was in November "Party Perfect" Ipsy Bag

Lace Dress

The other day I was looking through my closet and found a lace dress that I had bought from H&M at the beginning of summer with the tag still on :p I was soo mad because its getting colder now and I really wanted to wear it so I decided to make it more Fall appropriate. Not only is this look Fall appropriate but its an inspiration look of Taylor Swift. I don't know about you guys but I love Taylor Swift’s music, style and she’s flawless.

You can do soo much with this dress but I chose to stick with brown accessories to go with the boots I'm wearing. This look is more of a country girl style which I got from Taylor Swift’s look; she always wears cowboy boots so I decided to put mine on. On the colder days I would pair this with tights and a warm jacket.

If this look isn’t really your style at the bottom of the page I show you two other ways you may want to wear it. I decided to do a more edgy look and then a girly look so you get three looks with one dress. The more edgy one is pairing the dress with black accessories and what would make it more edgy and is really big now are studded boots. For the more girly look I paired the dress with dark fuschia tights and a navy blazer.

Even though its getting colder and you still want to wear your favorite dress you can make it work with the right accessories.

Enjoy and Happy Fall :)

Little Black Dress

Hey Beauties,

I recently found an old picture of Megan Fox in this cute little black dress with a turquoise necklace and a pair of black heels and wanted to re-create it from head to toe. Megan Fox is someone I look up to when it comes to fashion, her outfits are daring but also elegant at the same time.

I hope you enjoy my take on Megan Fox's little black dress and lookout for more celebrity looks coming up soon.

The look I'm re-creating is the outfit Megan fox wore for the Eagle Eye Premiere.

Disclaimer: I know I don't look nothing like Megan Fox I just took this outfit as an inspiration to re-create my own look.

Enjoy!

Here are the items I used to re-create this look and the accessories I used as well.

  1. Moonshadow Baked Palette - In The Nude - Sephora
  2. Brown Eyeliner
  3. Desert Haze Nail Polish - e.l.f cosmetics
  4. Lip Balm in Peach - e.l.f cosmetics

Rose Gold

My favorite color right now is Rose Gold I think it's such a beautiful and elegant color and I've been looking for some rose gold pieces to accessorise my outfits. Here are a few of my favorite pieces that I found.

The new trend now is "arm candy" meaning layering bracelets. There's tons of instagram/pinterest pictures to get inspiration from. Im obsessed with the MK rose gold watch, its pricey but you can find inexpensive similarities. J

Enjoy!!!

Perfumes!!!

I don't know about you but I love changing up my perfume I wear each day, I cannot leave my house without putting on my favorite perfume at that moment. I want to share a few of my favorites that I love and will keep buying. When I choose a perfume, I go for more of a sweet or fruity smell. If you are in the market of trying new fragrances you should try some of my favorite picks.

Enjoy!!!

My all time favorite would have to be “With Love” from Hilary Duff I’m at my second bottle, it’s amazing. It has a fruity as well a musky scent which I love. The packaging is soo pretty I love the box it comes with, that’s one reason why I decided to buy it. Lol

Ingredients: Milk, Fruit, Mangosteen, Musk, Flower, Exotic Spices, Amber, Cocobolo Wood.

I really love Paris Hilton’s perfumes I own all of them but my favorite is the “Can Can” one it can be worn either day or night. It’s a very fun and flirty scent with a mix of sophisticated and edgy. It has a sweet with a woody scent. The packaging is a cute sheer bottle with a feather decorated from the outside which represents a feather from her feathered dress that is on the box.

Ingredients: It has a very lively scent of clementine flowers blended with cassis and nectarine. As well it has a soft musky scent with some amber and woody scent which ties everything together well.

My new favorite perfume has to be “Wonderstruck” by Taylor Swift, there’s nothing I don’t like about it, it’s perfect. I love the packaging of the bottle as well as the scent. I recently bought the gift set that included: 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum, 0.17 oz Eau de Parfum Mini and 3.4 oz Body Lotion. Just the box was incredibly beautiful I love it, I saved it and store papers inside. I love that it has a raspberry and freesia scent.

Ingredients: Freesia, Green Tea, Apple Blossom, Raspberry and Dewberry.

My next favorite perfume is “Sexy” from Dynamite and it’s one of those perfumes they have at the cash that they change every few months and then you can’t find it again. Well this is my favorite scent and what sucks is I can’t find it anymore. L

But I did find a dupe for it but I haven’t bought it yet, it’s “Pink Sugar” from Aquolina. They have a similar smell not exactly what ingredients are in the Dynamite one.

Pink Sugar has a playful scent of vanilla and caramel which smells like heaven. It has a playful but romantic style. You will get tons of compliments of how good you smell because it smells soo sweet just like cotton candy. It has gotten soo many good reviews and is a best seller at Sephora. I first smelled it at Sephora and I thought it was a bit too strong, but I sprayed some onto my wrist and it wasn’t overpowering I just wanted to eat it. lol

Ingredients: Bergamot, Sicilian Orange, Raspberry, Fig Leaves, Lily of the Valley, Licorice, Strawberry, Red Fruit, Cotton Candy, Vanilla, Caramel, Musk, Wood, Powder.

Katy Perry’s perfume “Purr” is playful and sophisticated just like herself. It has a strong scent of jasmine blossom which I love and vanilla. I love wearing this on casual days like going to school or just running around doing errands.

Ingredients: Peach nectar, forbidden apple, floral bouquet of jasmine blossom, Bulgarian rose and vanilla orchid, and slowly reveals accents of creamy sandalwood and musk.

One fragrance that I’m surprised I like is “Allure Sensuelle” from Chanel. It isn’t a perfume I would splurge on but I got it as a gift and I love it. I only use it on special occasion because it has a very strong scent to wear every day. It has an elegant and oriental scent from vanilla and spicy ingredients.

Ingredients: Jasmine, Iris, Mandarin Orange, Amber Patchouli, Pink Pepper, Vanilla, Candied Fruit, Rose and Bergamot.

Sex in The City’s perfume in “Kiss” has a mixture of fresh, clean and sweet scents. It has a very sexy and long-lasting scent which is nice to have in a perfume.

Ingredients: Eden's mist water flowers, blue hyacinth, orange blossom, fruit of Jabuticaba wood, Laelia orchid, jasmine, pink honeysuckle, Mahonia japonica, plum blossom, amber seed, Zebrano Wood, Golden Melaleuca Bark.

Another must have is the “Fantasy” from Britney Spears it smells AMAZING!!! It’s a very romantic scent and is perfect for a first date; he won’t stop complimenting on how good you smell. J  It’s sweet but subtle and makes you feel luscious and beautiful. The bottle is soo pretty as well as her other fragrances are gorgeous and smell really good.

Ingredients: kiwi, white chocolate, musk, lychee, jasmine and orchid.

My Favorite Foundation

Hey Beauties,

Summer is here and finding the perfect foundation for the warm weather is kind of hard and pricey. For the past few months I’ve been using the Silk Crème Foundation from Laura Mercier in Rose Ivory. They are 10 different shades to choose from to match your skin tone.

Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation in Rose Ivory

Why I love it? Because it gives you a flawless, natural look without looking cakey or heavy. It’s a liquid foundation which I expected to be very heavy but it’s so lightweight that I feel my skin can still breathe. What I also like its waterproof for those hot days at the beach or by the pool. I wasn’t planning on purchasing this product since it was pricey, but I read a lot of good reviews on it and I really wanted to try it. I bought mine at Sephora for 55$ but for the price it’s an AMAZING product. I’ve had mine now for about 5 months now and you would expect it to be done but there’s so much more product inside the tube. You don’t need too much a little goes a long way, a few dots here and there and blend it with your fingers or a stipple brush and you’ll get a flawless finish.

One thing that I’ve noticed is beacuse I have a combination skin this foundation tends to slip off by the middle or end of the day and I feel my skin being oily. Even so I still love this product and I will keep on using it till I find a new one. I heard great reviews on the Makeup Forever HD Foundation which is for oily skin. hmm Something to look into.

HD Invisible Cover Foundation in 115 Ivory

Another foundation I've tried and again is pricey is the Pro Longwear SPF10 Foundation in NC20 from MAC. I found this foundation was very heavy on my skin and I didn't get a full coverage like I wanted. I still use it but mix it with some powder to get a flawless look.

If you’re looking for Foundations that are in a lower price rage a few that I suggest are:
  • L’Oreal True Match- very liquidly and has an airbrush finish if you use a stipple brush, lightweight, lots of colors to choose from.

L’Oreal True Match in Nude Beige

  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation- Covers everything from acne to dark circles, it feels heavy and you need to work quickly cause it tends to dry fast, lasts all day, I don’t suggest this for an everyday use maybe just at night or special occasions because it’s kind of heavy unless you like that. This product is also available for dry skin so there’s one for oily and one for dry skin.

  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation- gives you a fresh face, dewy finish, doesn’t look like you’re wearing anything, lightweight, perfect for those summer days or those days you feel like not wearing makeup but still want to, glowing natural face.
