Beauty/ Fashion Items

My favorite pieces of clothing and shoes right now would have to be my:
Cotton Candy Shorts
I've never worn anything like this and thought it would be cool to try something new. I found them at Le Garage and they had many different colors.

Forever 21 has some cute Rompers that I picked up recently
I bought a pair of new sandals from Aldo which I adore and I can't get enough of.

I think right now my favorite stores would have to be Brandy <3 Melville, Forever 21 and Sirens. They have the perfect cute dresses for the summer and tons of other cute items for the hot summer days/nights ahead.

Pacifica Island Vanilla Perfume Roll-On: I got this in my May Ipsy Bag and I absolutely LOVE it. Its a mix of Vanilla, hints of jasmine as well a bit fruity. If you love any of these scents you should try this Perfume it smells as if you gone on a Tropical Island.

I've been looking for a new face mask but I like using natural products for my face so I decided to go with LUSH. If you don't know what LUSH is, its a Natural Beauty shop where sells Freshly Blended products for your face, body, lips and hair care.

I decided to go with Catastrophe Cosmetic the main ingredient is Blueberries which helps with calming redness and its perfect for all skin types. Its the perfect mask when your starting out and you don't know what to choose. If you don't know what kind of products you need if its for your face, body or hair you can ask any of the employees and they will gladly help you. They are the most nicest people ever.

June & July Ipsy Review

June 2013
"On The Wild Side"

This month is more on the Wild side as you can tell from the Title. All the products came in this leopard print bag with a bright neon green zipper detail. As for the products and colors chosen I'm a bit worried I won't be able to pull them off but we will see if they make my favorites for June-July. I thnk the only products I really liked were the Eye pencil highlighter and the NYX Blush. I wasn't thrilled with the otehr 3 for 1 I don't really wear eyelashes and 2nd the color chosen for the lip pencil is not a color I would wear.

If I'm feeling wild I may actually wear them lol

As for the cream Eyeshadows I actually swatched them and there's a lot of sparkle that falls out I don't know how it looks on the eyes but so far not liking it. Also it didn't feel to me as cream so not sure what that is all about.

So far I haven't actually tested all the products to the fullest so I can't really say if they are good or not but first impression not liking this months picks. I still LOVE Ipsy and I wouldn't cancel it just because this bag wasn't my fave but I was just not happy with some of my picks.

J.cats beauty Eyelashes  in C32
J.cats beauty Eyeshadow Sparkling Cream Palette
NYX- Blush Powder in DARE
Chella - Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil
Starlooks - Lip Pencil in TIPSY

July 2013
"Beach Beauty"

I absolutely loved this month picks, I loved all the products and I tried every single one so I could do a review on all the products.

The first product which I've been obsessed with is the “Sexy hair” Beach spray. First off I need to say its such a perfect size to put in your purse or beach bag. The next thing I absolutely love the scent it has such a beachy scent I love it. I also love that it has argon oil which is great and because I have natural wavy hair it gives me a nice beachy look. This is perfect for giving your hair some texture even if your hair isn’t wavy or curly.
The best way to use this product is after you washed your hair and you’ve towel dried your hair. Your hair shouldn’t be completely wet and then spray away and scrunch your hair while you spray. It gives your hair soo much more volume and texture and an amazing beachy smell.

The second product is the “COOLA” Mineral Sunscreen. It’s also a tinted moisturizer and is made with organic ingredients. It has a SPF of 20 and the scent is just like the spray a beachy scent which I love.
I love this product because it gives a light coverage but protects your face from the sun while you’re out in the sun. I like applying a bit of BB cream and then adding this on top. For my skin I don’t need a lot of coverage which I’m thankful for.

Third product which is another favorite of mine is the “bh Cosmetics” California Collection eyeshadows samples. They took 3 main colors from 3 of their new palettes “Hollywood” “San Francisco” “Malibu” and put them into one. I absolutely love the packaging and all 3 colors. I love bh Cosmetics I own some other eyeshadows palettes and the colors are gorgeous. They are soo vibrant and there isn’t a lot of fallout which happens with other eyeshadows.

The fourth item I got was “POP” Pouty pop crayon in “Fuchsia Flirt” I really like the packaging and it’s a great size. At first I didn’t know if I’ll be able to pull it off because I don’t really wear bright lip colors I go for more of the nude pinks and nude colors. The first time I wore it I absolutely loved it, I love the color on me and you can build the color as you go. I like to apply a lip balm before and then add this and apply a nude gloss on gloss I think it’s a great combo. I really liked the other colors as well they were more nude and pink but it’s nice to try something different.

You can also just wear it alone to give you a hint of color to your lips while you’re at the beach or sitting by the pool.

The last product I was kind of disappointed not with the product itself but the color. I got “Nailtini” in Mai Tai, it’s an orange nail polish. I really love the brand I’ve gotten 2 others in the past and loved the colors but I’m not a fan of orange. The bottle is full sized which is amazing and the brand name is really cute. For me personally orange doesn’t look good on me so I’ll probably give this to a friend

Bath & Body Works Haul

Hey Beauties, today's post is all about Bath & Body Works products that I recently purchased.

I don't know about you but when I'm looking to buy candles I go straight to Bath & Body Works I absolutely love it there. I recently went and bought a few things and decided to do a post on my items and a review on some products I bought.

So let's start off by candles, there were a few sales on the candles such as 2 for 30$ (3-Wick Candles) and 6 for 15$ (mini candles). So I decided to buy 6 minis for 15$ at least I can try a few different and if I really liked them I would go purchase the bigger ones.

I think I smelled all the candles in the store like literally all lol. Some names sounded soo good but once I smelled them they didn't have a great smell which was disappointing.

So I decided to buy:
  • Peach Bellini
  • Lavender Vanilla
  • Villa Bergamot
  • Coconut Leaves
  • Limoncello
  • Pineapple Mango
There was a sale on other products you buy 3 items you get 2 free that is why I love Bath & Body Works they always have amazing sales. Also if you sign up you get discount coupons that you can use on your next purchase.

Shower gels/body creams:
  • Bali Mango (shower gel)
  • Rio Rumberry (shower gel)
  • Pink Chiffon (shower gel)
  • Bali Mango (body cream) free
  • Coconut Lime Breeze (Fragrance) free
And last thing was the Rome Honeysuckle Amore - Bronze Shimmer Fizz  Body Mousse.

My Review

As for the candles I haven't tried them yet but I do hope they smell the same as the tin.

The only product I did try was the Bronze Shimmer Fizz which I thought would give me some color but it really didn't. When you spray it onto your skin it starts fizzing which is cool and after rubbing it onto your skin it leaves a very soft sparkly tint. The smell is good a bit too strong but there's no color just a lot of sparkle. If you go into the sun you will sparkle like Edward in Twilight lol

I wouldn't purchase it again I will just use all of it and put it on top of an actual bronzer so it will give me a shine. But I fine a bit goes a long way because it sparkles a lot. Also I suggest you try them at the store because they do have a strong scent. There are only 3 scents I only tried this one but I heard Capri Seaside Citrus smells really good.

It's also part of the Bella Italian Collection so if you want to try any of the products from that collection you should hurry before they are gone.

I hope you guys liked my small haul until next time :)

March Favorites 2013

Hey beauties so I decided every month I would do a favorites post of all my favorite beauty and non-beauty products. There's tons of month favorite videos on youtube but since I don't have a good camera I decided to do a blog post and post some pics :)

Hope you enjoy and post your favorite beauty or non-beauty faves from March :)

My favorite makeup remover wipes are the "say YES to Cucumber" I've posted about these before, they are my favorite wipes EVER!!! I'm on my 3rd package but I ran out last night and they only sell them in the US so on my next trip I will have to stock up. On that same trip that I purchased the "say YES to Cucumber" I also bought the "Aveeno, ultra calming" wipes. I used one last night and it smelled soo good, it has a sweet Chamomile scent. It's natural as well as oil-free which is what I was looking for. I haven't tried it enough to really review it but so far I'm loving it.

Perfume: Taylor Swift- Wonderstruck
                     Pink Sugar

Body Cream: Taylor Swift Wonderstruck
Moroccan Argan oil- creamy oil Lotion

Other

Candles- Hot Butter Rum from White Barn
Mahogany Teakwood from Bath & Body Works (smells exactly like Hollister)

TV Shows- Vampire Diaries, The Carrie Diaries, Beauty and the Beast and SMASH ( I have tons more but these are ones I've watched in March)

Songs- JT- Mirrors, Lana Del Rey- Diet Mountain Dew, Pitbull ft. Ariana-Sexy People and Demi Lovato-Heart Attack (I've been obsessed with these songs in March)

When it comes to Fashion I've been obsessed with skulls and studs, it's weird because I'm really girly and people that know me aren't used to this change. I still love my girly colors but I love my skulls. I have a few pieces that I found such as a scarf inspired by Alexander McQueen, a few tops and some jewelley.

Hope you enjoyed my March favorites and let me know what were your march favorites :)

February/March Ipsy Bag

It's been forever since I sat down to write a post. I haven't had any ideas of what to write but I recently got my February and March Ipsy bags so I decided to do a review.

February was the "Red Carpet Bag."

It included:
  • Coastal Scents Shadow Palette Sample
  • Pixi Flawless & Poreless
  • POP Beauty Smokey Lash Kapow Mascara
  • MicaBeauty Gel Eyeliner
  • Lash Card The Lash Card

I was really happy I got the brown shadow palette they can be used wet or dry to create any look. Also each pan of shadow has the name of that shadow so you can purchase the full product.

I'm always looking to try new face primers last month I got another one and this month there's a new one. I don't think I will run out of Primers if they keep sending new ones each month. lol

I'm really happy I got the black gel liner, I already tried it and it glides on your eyes its amazing!! It comes in 5 other colors. I've only tried 2 other gel liners one was from Maybelline and the other from E.L.F cosmetics and both after I used once are hard and don't go on smoothly. So I am really happy this one is a success. :)

The last thing that I couldn't wait to try and I was soo happy when I found out we were getting it in this month's bag. It was the Lash Card I heard great reviews on this product but never found any so I was happy I got some. They give you 4 in a pack and I tried one the otehr day and you can re-use them a few time till you have to throw them. It's perfect for the bottom lashes as well as applying shadows the lash card will prevent from any fallout.

March Ipsy Bag "The Great Escape"

It included:

  • GlamRX Mini Freestyle Palette
  • Yaby Eyeshadow Refill
  • Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist
  • La Fresh Travel Lite Makeup Remover 8ct Pouch
I really liked the little bag the items came in this month I liked the theme its getting us ready for Spring/Summer.

I really liked the small palette, it's a smaller version of the Z-palettes, with this one you can just put a few shadows and put it in your purse. It also came with 2 small shadows from Yaby which came in 4 different colors I got the top 2 colors from the picture below I wish I got the turquoise color it looks gorgeous.

The last 2 products were the Hydrating Mist and the Makeup Remover Wipes which I was excited to try out. I've only used 1 Hydrating Mist from e.l.f cosmetics so I was happy to try a new one. I haven't used it yet but I hear great things, I will post a review soon. The last one is the Makeup Remover Wipes I haven't tried those either yet because I am currently using my "Say Yes to Cucumber" wipes and they are my all time favorite. But I will try one and do a review soon. :)

Makeup Haul

The one thing I love about shopping in the US is all the new products they have that we in Canada don't. On my recent trip to the stes I did bit of research before going and made a list of all the things I needed or wanted to try. I think I had about 5 pages full of makeup, face, hair products that I wanted to try out.

I went to Target and if you don't know Target did a collaboration with Neiman Marcus and Marc Jacobs in the month of december. The day I went they had a 50% off on the whole collection for just that day. They didn't have much left but I bought this cute Marc Jacob's rosegold pouch that could be used as a makeup bag or a clutch.

The sale is still going on here.

At Target I bought most of my makeup and face products, I think I spent an hour and a half in those aisles.

I was looking for a new face cleanser as well as some natural face products. I found the "say yes to" brand which I was really happy because I've tried it once and was never able to find them here. The whole line is made out of organic ingredients they have brands carrots, cucumbers, grapefruit, blueberries, tomatoes and baby carrots.

For more info click here.

I tried the cucumber one they only had that one and tomatoes but I preferred the cucumber smell better. I bought the cleanser as well as the facial towelettes to remove makeup, I bought several packages of the towelettes. As for face products the only other thing I bought was the Clean and Clear Morning Burst Cleanser in "fruit infusions". It smells soo good just like a fruit smoothie and it helps wake up your skin which I absolutely love since I'm not a morning person.

Now for beauty products I love makeup if you don't already know from this blog. I love trying out new products as well as trying out new trends. So I found the polish strips which I've been dying to try for months now. I found them on sale so I bought them they are from Sally Hansen "Salon effects" and its called " Queen Cobra 001". I can't wait to try it out I will post a picture and a review when I do.

Essie came out with their Holidays collection so I picked up "Leading Lady" it's a gorgeous sparkly deep red color perfect for the holidays.

The next 2 products I couldn't wait to get my hands on ever since they came out. They are the Color Tattoo 24hr eyeshadows in "25 Bad to the Bronze" and "35 Tough as Taupe". The first thing I got home I tried them on and they are gorgeous alone and together, I was soo happy I finally bought them.

The last bunch of products are all from my favorite brand E.L.F their products are cheap but are great products even better then some brand name products.

A pack of 3 blotting sheets (tea tree, green tea and aloe)
3 wet gloss lash & brow clear mascara
A blush in "Tickled Pink"
Lip balm spf 15 in "pink" my fave
Angled Eyeliner Brush

I will review some of things I try out and post them soon.

Hope you enjoyed this post.

Keep smiling :)

Ipsy

Hey guys!!

For a year now I've been watching haul videos of monthly makeup subscriptions, but I was never able to purchase any because they weren't offered in Canada.

Monthly makeup subscriptions if you don't know is when you pay a monthly fee of $10 and you receive 4 beauty sample products as well you receive a 5th full size product. There is 3 big ones which I'll add the links at the bottom. They are mostly all the same but they all give different samples and their packaging is really cute.

I really love this idea because you get to try brand name products that you probably wouldn't try otherwise. You also can test the products and then if you like them you can buy the full size.

I've subscribed to Ipsy and the thing I love about it is that it was created by 6 makeup youtube gurus, Michelle Phan, Andrea, Promise Phan, Jessica Harlow and Bethany. I watch their videos all the time and they have AMAZING!!

(Michelle Phan) http://www.youtube.com/user/michellephan

(Jessica Harlow) http://www.youtube.com/user/MissJessicaHarlow/videos?view=0

(Promise Phan) http://www.youtube.com/user/dope2111

(Andrea) http://www.youtube.com/user/AndreasChoice

(Bethany) http://www.youtube.com/user/Macbarbie07

I've only had it for 2 months and so far I'm really happy with what I have recieved. I got samples that I would never gotten the chance to try because either it was too expensive or it wasn't sold here.

What I like about Ipsy is that every month a  new bag is released there's a contest on their website the challege is to create look by using the products in your bag. You can either take a photo or a video and upload it to your profile on Ipsy.com.

Here is what was in November "Party Perfect" Ipsy Bag

It included:
Benefit Cosmetics They're Real beyond mascara,
theBalm Meet Matt(e) matte eyeshadow palette
Starlet Intense Eyeliner,
Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Millionaire
bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss (US ONLY)

So for Canada they sent a cute pink Blending Brush :)

This month is called "Haute Holiday" which included:

NYX Pearl Shadow
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil
Mirabella Prime for Face and Eyes
Mai Couture highlight papier
Be A Bombshell lip gloss

Also I got an exclusive sample of the new Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm that will be release in January 2013.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I will keep an update every month as well I will add my look for that months contest till next time :)

Lace Dress

The other day I was looking through my closet and found a lace dress that I had bought from H&M at the beginning of summer with the tag still on :p I was soo mad because its getting colder now and I really wanted to wear it so I decided to make it more Fall appropriate. Not only is this look Fall appropriate but its an inspiration look of Taylor Swift. I don't know about you guys but I love Taylor Swift’s music, style and she’s flawless.

You can do soo much with this dress but I chose to stick with brown accessories to go with the boots I'm wearing. This look is more of a country girl style which I got from Taylor Swift’s look; she always wears cowboy boots so I decided to put mine on. On the colder days I would pair this with tights and a warm jacket.

If this look isn’t really your style at the bottom of the page I show you two other ways you may want to wear it. I decided to do a more edgy look and then a girly look so you get three looks with one dress. The more edgy one is pairing the dress with black accessories and what would make it more edgy and is really big now are studded boots. For the more girly look I paired the dress with dark fuschia tights and a navy blazer.

Even though its getting colder and you still want to wear your favorite dress you can make it work with the right accessories.

For more inspiration check out Pinterest, Polyvore or even Instagram.

Enjoy and Happy Fall :)

Little Black Dress

Hey Beauties,

I recently found an old picture of Megan Fox in this cute little black dress with a turquoise necklace and a pair of black heels and wanted to re-create it from head to toe. Megan Fox is someone I look up to when it comes to fashion, her outfits are daring but also elegant at the same time.

I hope you enjoy my take on Megan Fox's little black dress and lookout for more celebrity looks coming up soon.

The look I'm re-creating is the outfit Megan fox wore for the Eagle Eye Premiere.

Disclaimer: I know I don't look nothing like Megan Fox I just took this outfit as an inspiration to re-create my own look.

Enjoy!

Here are the items I used to re-create this look and the accessories I used as well.

  1. Moonshadow Baked Palette - In The Nude - Sephora
  2. Brown Eyeliner
  3. Desert Haze Nail Polish - e.l.f cosmetics
  4. Lip Balm in Peach - e.l.f cosmetics
  5. Black Mascara
